About Laura

Laura is an actor, writer, vocalist and director based in New York. As the child of actors, she took to the stage at an early age, performing and training throughout her childhood. She attended Smith College and graduated with a degree in Art History with a focus on contemporary and performance art. While at Smith, she sang a Capella, worked as an on-air and events DJ, explored personal memoir and creative non-fiction, and studied abroad in India. 

After graduating, Laura worked in contemporary art programming at The Walker Art Center. She lead Youth programing and assisted with the Walker Open Field - a three year experiment in performance and public space. During this time, she also continued performing as a vocalist singing with Anonymous Choir and for multidisciplinary performance projects with artists such as Grant Cutler and Emily Johnson/Catalyst.  

Laura works consistently as a voice over artist and has worked for brands such as Progressive Insurance, Pepsi, Medicare, Johnson & Johnson, Philips, Homesense, Rinvoq and MAC Cosmetics to name a few.

She has worked with theaters such as Nylon Fusion, the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Ten Thousand Things and Other Tigers Productions. In 2019, she was the Assistant Director for John Patrick Shanley’s new one Act Japanese Porno. More recently, she premiered two of Ishmael Reed’s plays at Theater for the New City - The Slave Who Loved Caviar and The Conductor

Laura Is fluent in French and Spanish and plays the rhythm guitar. She is a contralto with a three octave range and is an experienced soloist and ensemble member.
